Sometimes i have
a moment of genius! Why not link extra curricular activities for those six of
some 437 students that have managed to process their "obligatory" Student Identity Cards in the first two weeks of
school?
After a four day
delay due to the continued failures of the photocopiers on site, my newsletter
goes out offering a wide array of activities across the whole school community
– Story Club for our 3 year olds up to Drama
and even Guitar Club (for beginners) with Mountain Man himself for the
11+.
L. my secretary
and Front Of House is completely inundated with photos and the response is
instant, and the desk is deep in a sea of parents and students jostling to get
their ECA forms and their ID photos.
But nothing quite
goes right here. Our completed and multi-signed Requisite Form for the plastic
wallets has yet again fallen on Deaf Ears at the Secondary campus, and have
failed to acquire them after three weeks! I try to chase it up only to
find that they have lost the Requisite
Form and can i fill in a new one please.
It goes down as
“urgent” and i wonder how long it might take to eventually procure them. “48
Hours” says Yasin with every confidence. I suspect it closer to 48 days.
It’s like a Fawlty
Towers farce here, and again i question what on earth am i doing here? It
appears everyone elses' jobs apart from my own - trying to run a “respectable”
international school.
