I got the idea for a Staff Suggestion Box from my Misses. And it sounded a good one.
At her previous school, staff were invited to jot down their ideas and put it in the box. Pocket Money prizes were given each month for the best idea.
Trouble is i want all my budget to be spent on student resources, so i don't feel the need for a financial incentive. Instead i get a box beautifully made up, and to be placed into the ever developing Staff Lounge. I inform staff both at Monday morning briefing and at Wednesday's staff meeting that i would welcome their ideas.
After 2 weeks i go check to see what is inside.
It's empty.
I can't help being somewhat disappointed for the box remains untouched. I thought at least a few of them would have suggested my departure. Is it really possible that they think we are a perfect school? Or they trust me to make it perfect? I fear it is simply lethargy.
