I arrive at my regular 6.30am and work on my
final draft of my introductory letter to parents. I look around the empty files
which should contain minutes of Senior Management meetings, empty curriculum
folders and an untouched Staff Handbook and School Assessment guides - none of
which has ever been implemented. It’s sad to realise that after seven years,
the school hasn’t actually got off the ground, and i am in full realisation of
the task i face. And i have really seen the school in action yet! There is
nothing else for it but to start from the very beginning.
I know i can do it – i was involved in
opening a school in Hong Kong and even spent a week in Miami on some quality intensive
Principal Training College Inset of “Creating and Administrating an Effective
School.” However it takes concerted
efforts on everybody’s part. Can i bring the staff on board? Only time will
tell.
