A Sense of Urgency

Walking around the campus with just a few days before opening the doors to our students i am very concerned.

I have given teachers time every day to prepare their rooms for incoming students. I’ve even prepared the activities for the first week – initial reading, writing and Number assessments, develop class Codes of Conduct for display purposes, plenty of stories and getting to know you games.

However rooms remain completely bare, bar some exercise books and a few pencils.

Worse still, the playground is in disarray with a massive trench for the new water pipes. I inform anyone that will listen that i am unable to open the school to students on the designated Monday for Health and Safety reasons and we’ll all look real embarrassed. I give them to Sunday 5pm for my final inspection before i have to make a call on it.
