My Football Team

Not only are my kids gorgeous, loving and respectful (at least to me), they also play a mean game of football.

Upper Primary PE teacher Miss Sanayit may be a real slack-ass and can often be seen teaching from a chair or perched on a wall, but she clearly enjoys taking our football team around Addis to play friendly matches against other schools. Maybe it’s because she often gets to enjoy free burgers on fixture day.

In our frst match we wipe Andinet 5 – 1 which is followed by a 7 – 0 drubbing of the Italian School. I am so proud of my players that i am happy to purchase them their own football kit. Someone stole their previous one form the Secondary campus last year. I incorporate the colours from the British flag and use the school logo for their badge. I think they look great!

The team then play a local derby against our neighbour’s, Ethio-Parents who field some Grade 8s, and we are narrowly defeated 1 – 0, which is then followed by a 3 – 1 defeat against St Joseph’s, despite leading 1 – 0 at half time. Unfortunately, there is clearly a touch of Watford FC about them.
