Resignation

About three weeks ago, GW sent me his draft resignation letter. It's good. My turn.

Dear Ann and Seif,

It is with great pleasure that i hand in my notice to you forthwith.

As i have already told you, you are both culpable of producing so little over 8 years. You do indeed have 2 buildings with fee-paying students. Your school is a complete farce, run on immoral and unethical grounds with parents fed a series of lies and deceits. I have tried to offer you guidance and support (because you so clearly need it), but projects and suggestions remain ignored. Now, any platform i might have had to speak to you, has resulted in the ostrich in the sand treatment. You refuse to accept responsibility for your own actions and are oblivious to the fact that every human is accountable for their actions. You are seriously self-deluded.

You have accountants and financiers that cannot keep books, cleaners that cannot clean, and continue down your path of favouriticism, cronyism and nepotism. Yonis was rewarded with a 125% pay-rise, Abraham with a 100% pay rise in the course of the year, yet stalwarts to BIS like Ms Jill are bullied and blackmailed to sign contracts. It’s so fundamentally wrong on so many levels.

There is no transparency in your affairs whatsoever, which one can only conclude that there are several snouts in the trough as you continue to rake in large sums of money in the return for subsistence education and appalling resources. Your “procedures” are nothing more than bottlenecks to withhold change and school improvement. I have no intention of my name being sullied by your stupidity and incompetence.

Parents at Gerji have a right to not having electricity cut-off, a workable photocopier, paper and water. Issues of Health and Safety which has been a PTA agenda item for 3 years have not been adhered to, despite recommendations from the new directors and indeed an external auditor. Despite a written request from the Directors to at least make a statement on the audit, it has been sat upon for weeks, thus perpetuating the School of Inertia. It took some 9 months to procure liquid soap (readily available in Allmart), and despite three requisition orders, we remain short of nine toilet seats. Does this even remotely send out signals that you care? Seif’s reaction to my endeavours to have the school closed so it can be cleaned just reinforced the fact that his own concern for his well being is by far more important than the lives and safety of the 430+ students at Gerji. Truly shamefull.

You are doing a complete disservice to the children of BIS and i would recommend you find a less harmful and damaging “enterprise”. You are both religious people and pray to my God that He brings justice to you both.
