8 am Monday morning. No sign of Ms
Christian in the library, so i whizz through the Staff Briefing and then hope
to locate this complete reprobate in the ICT Room. The room is naked. Rush down
stairs to check the teacher register on the front desk. No sign of her name.
Rush up to the top floor to find Mr Z (her line leader and person to call if
there is a problem). He’s heard nothing.
8.30am and i’m speaking to the Grade Student
whose parents informed me their daughter had been watching pornography during
Ms Christian’s Computer Club. She denied accessing it herself, but one of the
boys on the next terminal did. I call in the boy who admits viewing images, but
denies flatly he accessed the site on purpose. Both students say Ms Christian
spent time in the Staff Lounge “regularly”. I don’t doubt that one moment.
I head out of the office with the boy and
see there is an Upper Primary class in the ICT Room. She must be in at last.
But she is not, for the ICT has a full class of students and absolutely zero
adult supervision. I burst through the adjoining door into the staff lounge
where there are three teachers but no Ms Christian. I ask the students where
she is, but no-one knows, or indeed has seen her. I take the class upstairs and
cover until the class teacher arrives. He presumed Ms Christian was in school,
as no-one knew otherwise. Mr Z gets a call from Ms Christian at 9am. Her eye is
sore and so she won’t be in all day.
My pent-up range seeks an outlet. What
better time to harass Dr No? I have many outstanding issues with him, he has
already sent his apologies for this week’s SMT (his 3rd absents in
the last 4!) and i’m desperate to let
rip. I tell my secretary i’m off to Admin on the Secondary Campus, jump in my
car a rage round.
But the slimy reptile has decided to take the
day off. Thwarted again.
Ms Christian knows how to run a computer club!
