Postponed

Finally Ato S is off on a business trip to Dubai and Turkey, and the daily Top Management Team meetings are postponed until January.Nonetheless, we are close to completion. The meeting have been exhausting and all three Directors have added work-loads, but unfortunately most especially Mountain Man.

I have now become line-leader to almost all Admin on Gerji and Site Maintenance too. Yasin the Weasel (Purchasing)  is now designated for my site and comes under me too. He owes me big time, but he seems very excited at the prospect. He even sends me a “congratulations” text!

I am now also a signatory on the pay-roll for all staff on site – some sixty staff members with the power to dock pay. Ms Senayit (PE Teacher in Upper Primary) who has already clocked up five sickies this year. It should be noted that despite some of his more questionable life-style choices, Mountain Man is strong and hasn’t had a day of work due to illness since 2004.

But i feel more and more an Administrator and it bores my silky boxers off me. I want a class to call my own.

Being off site so much has also taken it’s toll. I come back around mid-day to find at least two or three  “incidents” which require my immediate attention. Worst still i find parents are clearly feeling more confident to address issues with me.

One couple inform me their Grade Four daughter is being bullied and they are swiftly followed by three mums bringing a series of accusations against my outspoken Native Amharic teacher in Upper Primary . Whilst i’m able to bring about a resolution with the first, within three days to the satisfaction of all, the accusations are far more tricky. These have been ongoing for the last 18 months apparently.
